Suicide Squad, Katana's Sword?

I feel like they really missed an opportunity here, they have a character who's body is being inhabited by an evil sorceress's soul and a character who's sword traps souls. I can't be insane for thinking that's how they would resolve the whole Enchantress situation.

I mean they have so many useless characters who serve no point to the plot, so it would have been a good way to make at least one of them relevant.
