Which franchise you wish they made more movies but ended up having only ONE sequel?

I usually see articles regarding franchises overstay their welcome, such as Transformers, The Fast and the Furious, Resident Evil. It makes me reverse-wonder; What about franchises that have potentials but only got one shot at a sequel? This topic is rarely discussed (afaik, anyway). That's why this thread happens.

Can you give me example of a franchise you wish they made more movies but ended up having only ONE sequel? Or should have been concluded as a trilogy with a third movie, but never happened?
