Why did George Lucas stop making films?

George Lucas may be one of the most influential influential filmmaker and popular storyteller, as Star Wars has shown. He also played a significant part in Indiana Jones. Plus he is a good director as other works such as American Graffiti shows. So why did he stop making films? Surely a creative mind like his has more to offer.
