Can we talk about Face/Off? I'm dyin' to talk about Face/Off!
This movie man... This fucking movie. It sustains a level of over-da-topness throughout the whole movie that sits right in that sweet spot that keeps you entranced, amused, and confused.
Why? Is what I'm always asking myself with nearly every shot, world buidling, and acting decision. There are just so many things about this movie. It's a masterclass in pure entertainment.

First off, Nic Cage is only 33 years old in this movie. Madness has a way of aging a man beyond his years.
-
John Travolta tries his best to do a Nic Cage impression and succeeds very well in his own bizarre way, but when Nic Cage is doing a John Travolta impression of a Nic Cage impression, hooo baby.
-
Archer just adopts the kid as a straight up replacement for his own dead kid and I'm supposed to sit here and believe that that's not weird?
-
Gavin Belson gets shot in the head
-
What was up with that super high tech magnet boot prison that turned out to be some sort of abandoned oil rig?
-
Also, Nic Cage just jumps 100 feet into the water, and that's it. He escaped.
-
Every non-word noise that John Travolta makes
-
A classic speedboat chase scene finale
-
Uhhh, Castor and Pollux
-
Did they really need to Face/Off? I know it's the entire premise/conflict of the movie, but part of me always thinks of how things could have been if Nic Cage would have remained the insane bad guy the whole time.
