Just rewatched Donnie Darko

I watched this movie religiously as a teenager, and it always impacted on my soul.

15 years later as an adult, it stuck me as one of the best indie movies of the early 2000s. The feeling of teen angst is supreme, and the idea that what you do affects everyone around you made me feel significant again.

The soundtrack creates a sense of dread, omnipotence, and downright fear during scenes. The feeling that you can impact everyone around you, even as a lowly teen reminds me of all my struggles as a nobody thru my teen years.

What a masterpiece is still is.
