Characters who got worse and worse as the franchise got on

He was always an idiot but, in the first one, he was at least a well meaning nice guy. Even at his most insensitive, it seemed like he didn't realize what was really going on until it was too late.

Starting with the second one, he turned into a dick. It's like they thought "oh, he's stupid but that means he can say anything and we'll just brush it off with him being an idiot". I mean, hello, he makes fun of the extinction of mammoths to the face of a mammoth and dances along with a song about how vultures are going to eat everybody, including his friends. That's not stupidity, that's just being an asshole.
