Damon Albarn confirms a 1 hour Animated movie for Gorillaz is coming to streaming

(It's Netflix, but the subreddit banned the words from the title.)

I feel like we've been here a hundred times before so I understand that some of you will have to take this news with a grain of salt, even from the creators.

A long time ago the Gorillaz band was almost a DreamWorks animated film before being rejected for being too dark and adult.

And when the 'Humanz' album was being made, Jamie Hewlett and Damon Albarn were working on an animated series of the beloved Gorillaz characters.

But as time kept creeping by, projects kept falling apart.

This all lead up to their newest album 'Song Machine Season One: Strange Timez', which set out to frequently release new music videos up to the release of the album at the end of the year.

Damon is doing press junkets promoting the album and in an Italian Magazine he just casually drops that a 1 hour, pure fiction, Animated Gorillaz film is coming to Netflix.

They are currently going over the first script, but this is first we've ever heard of this project.
