Hellraiser (1987)

So last night I was looking for a Halloween movie to give me a good scare. As I was looking through amazon I came across Hellraiser. I’ve always known about the franchise because Pinhead is one of those iconic horror characters but I’ve never had the urge to seek it out. I’m somewhat resistant to watching classic horror movies after watching The Exorcist and being underwhelmed (which was totally on me, I knew all the tropes and references going in).

But wow did Hellraiser impress/scare me. Such a simple plot that it wasn’t tripping over itself, amazing practical effects and some great existential horror. Also cenobites are my new fave thing. 10/10 would spook again.
