Return to Oz (1985) is a fever dream that's kinda deep

So I watched this for the first time the other day and...

What were they on? The Wheelers are actually terrifying, the chicken subplot is hilariously weird, and how did Dorothy get younger?

However, I believe that Dorothy died in the psych ward when the power went out, and Oz is Purgatory. This is why the mirror girl arrived (as an angel) as soon as the doctor left. This also explains the screams. There is also a lot of religious and mythical imagery, like a river (The River Styx), angels (mirror girl), demons (the gnome king represents Satan maybe, the wheelers, and probably that version of the cowardly lion like what the hell is that). At the end of the film, Dorothy arrives back in Kansas and everything is great again. I think that this is her afterlife or heaven

Also, the animatronic chicken is actually really impressive

Also also, Jack Skellington is definitely Jack Pumpkinhead but dead.
