I feel like that any new Terminator film should go back to its horror roots rather than big budget action
Even though I'm a big fan of T2 and might even prefer it to the first one. I feel like all the sequels and reboots are trying to hard to copy that large set-piece filled action movie and ditched the horror element.
I felt like in the first film there was there this horror of an entity being sent back to specifically kill you, something that doesn't need sleep or food, something that can withstand bullets and bombs, can jump through walls or can infilitrate a club to slice your throat. That feeling of you never being safe. That feeling of something being right behind that door, ready to kill you.
I don't feel like they incorporated any of that in the last few Terminator films. It just feels like a generic film where they only think of set pieces to put in the trailer.
Whereas I feel it needs to be a bit more like 'It Follows' while still having enough set pieces to satisfy the crowd looking for action.
