In the midst of the pandemic, I decided to watch the film "Contagion" (2011). It is a bit scary sometimes given the situation that we are currently in but I feel obligated that I highly recommend others to watch it.
I think that many people have already recommended this before but I feel obligated to suggest this as well.
It is a bit scary sometimes given the situation that we are currently in but I feel obligated to say that it is a different kind of film when compared to other films that are related to this kind of topic.
Usually, there are heroes and villains but this film, it does not portray this.
They delve into many different areas about how humans behave or react towards the pandemic and in truth, there is no clear answer.
Some people panic, some people think of the worst, some people investigate and research, some people stay calm.
There is a bit of politics and psychological attitudes where there are different people showing different opinions or suggestions or assumptions about the virus or about each other but there is no clear winner here either.
It is just different people behaving in different ways to survive. (Sure, the journalist was more or less the antagonist though he presented good arguments based on past events or past mistakes which also represented the voice of the general public on whether to trust what the authorities say or claim or not)
It is almost like a scientific sort of film.
It delves into some compelling concepts on human behaviour in a worldwide health issue and it is not as over the top as other movies that revolve around this particular subject (obviously there is drama but a different kind of drama that we are used to)
