Who's your favorite fictional bad-ass female protagonist?

Watching ghost in the shell: stand alone complex again got me thinking about this and how I wish there were more I was aware of.

The Major/Motoko is just written so well (imo) with her bad-assery feeling rightfully earned. Ripley (Alien) and The Bride (kill bill) are other perfect examples, but anyone have any more?
