What actor was at the “end of his career” and then revived it with a great role?

I think an easy answer is John Travolta with his role as Vincent in Pulp Fiction.

He wasn't doing any very well known movies at that point but as soon as Pulp Fiction came out he got a lot of roles for movies with a good budget: Broken Arrow, Face/Off, Get Shorty.

He certainly had a problem where maybe he should've said no to a few roles (BattleField Earth...)

but if it wasn't for Pulp Fiction I don't think we would've had a John Travolta presence in the 90s/early 2000s.

Who else had a similar scenario where a good role saved their career?
