Dr Sleep is a really good sequel to the Shining

It's no secret that King didn't like the Shining because it didn't stay faithful to his book, but I think that most people agree that Kubrick's interpretation is definitely one of the greatest horror films of all time.

Ironically, this film doesn't stay completely faithful to the source material, but seemingly with Kings blessing because it rights the wrong done with the first film, whilst keeping faithful to it.

If anyone ever wanted to know how to do fan service, this is the film to watch. It's filled with nostalgia for Kubrick's film, but is a great film in its own right.

It's not scary like the Shining, but it was never going to be. This is a story about redemption, and it's surprisingly heartwarming because of it.

I'm sad that I slept on this, pun not intended, ok kinda intended. A worthy sequel that I enjoyed.
