[Discussion] Why does Spider-Man 2 still hold up so well? Simple: Alfred Molina's Doc Ock is one of the most compelling villains in the history of comic book movies.

Spider-Man 2 is really well-regarded and I think a large part of that is that it has a great villain. Doctor Octopus, brilliantly performed by Alfred Molina, is intimidating, is frightening, has an interesting backstory and beats the crap of Spider-Man easily. In many recent superhero movies, the action and cinematography are great. The heroes are usually a lot of fun but very rarely do the villains come close to our expectations. What are /r/movies thoughts?
