WTF is up with Gone Girl's ending?

So I've been meaning to watch the movie ever since it came out and I finally got around to watching it today and it's great.. till it actually ends. Why the fuck would Nick be okay with living with a psychopathic wife? The movie just ends with him and it's all like "wife is crazy, but fuck it, baby's on the way, might as well just play it cool." Really bummed about the ending. A part of me wanted the bitch to get locked up, but hey that's just me.
