Gwyneth Paltrow, Robert Downey Jr and Chris.Evans lived up to their promise and surprised a Grossmont High School teenager.
A high school friend of mine has a son that has had a rough time of it. Here is a note from his uncle...
"This is Ryan Wilcox, my nephew . . . the bravest, toughest kid I know. Ryan is 18 years old and is in a desperate fight against a rare blood disorder called secondary Myelodysplastic Syndrome or MDS. Secondary, because it is a rare side effect from the chemotherapy and radiation that Ryan endured while battling a brain tumor when he was 3 years old. Ryan had a bone marrow transplant in April of 2015, and after a long, difficult road back, the Wilcox family recently received the disheartening news that Ryan has relapsed from the bone marrow transplant and is now fighting for the 3rd time. You can read more about Ryan's battles against this rare form of cancer on this Facebook page: Ryan's Story On Facebook."
Captain America has always been a source of inspiration for Ryan throughout his battle with his disease. About the time Captain America was set to be released people that love Ryan began to reach out to see if he could meet the actor that played him on screen. The entire Grossmont School District tired to get the word out and it seemed to work. First Gweneth Paltro first made a comment and Chris Evans made a video for Ryan. He told Ryan to stay strong. Then this happened…

They actually showed up and made this kids day.
Gweneth Paltro, Robert Downy Jr., and Chris Evans are class acts.
If you want to contribute to the Ryan Strong fund to help his family while he battles this disease, here is the link...

If you don’t want to help his family, that is fine too, just enjoy the story and know that people can be cool sometimes.
