I just sat through the first hour or so of Anomalisa with the director's commentary on and didn't realize it wasn't just the inner monologue of the main character.

i feel so incredibly stupid i just had to come here and tell someone in the hopes that im not the only one.

it sort of made sense for parts of the movie, but as it went on, his "inner monologue" became gradually weirder, the way he was describing everything that was happening on screen in detail. i don't think i've facepalmed this hard in quite a while.
