The Odyssey deserves a film worthy of its size
I just recently watched Jason and the Argonauts (1963) and it rekindled my love for Greek Mythology. I've always admired Troy (2004) as one of the better film adaptions of Greek Myth, and I think we are overdue for a film of one of the greatest stories, The Odyssey. It could be in a similar style to Troy and Sean Bean can reprise his role as Odysseus. I'm aware of the Odyssey (1997) but let's face it, it's nothing spectacular, and it certainly doesn't do justice to the epic size of the real tale.
If only Hollywood would try to film stories that never really got a proper adaption to begin with instead of remaking things like Ben Hur that no one wanted to begin with.
I could also see the style in that of Guillermo del Toro (ala Pans Labyrith, Hell Boy esque creatures)
It could possibly lend itself to being a TV series
