The chronicles of Narnia movies were trying SO hard to be the next lord of the rings. Disney was trying so hard to push them as such. Spoilers

Disney gave up after the second one hehe and gave the franchise to Fox for the 3rd one.

Thing is, I kinda liked some scenes in the first 2 movies. I especially thought Prince Caspian had a ton of potential to be what disney were trying to market as "epic" and there were particularly scenes that I thought were great, particularly the cameo of the Witch.

I think they were held back by being like, pg rated or something, especially prince Caspian which had a lot more adult themes of betrayal and bloodshed. I mean you can't have a pg war, it just doesn't work. So disney at the time didn't realize they couldn't have it both ways, be for children and dark/epic for adults at the same time.

But I liked the first 2 for the most part. I did happen to catch the 3rd one a few months ago... wasn't a fan.
