"Pure Imagination" feels like it would be a good song to play for this year's Oscar Memorial.

It's both a little bittersweet and uplifting, not to mention kind of timeless. Plus its easy to read it as a celebration of movie magic.

I guess a good alternative would be Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah but even when he was alive he felt that it had been overused for soundtracks. Maybe it would probably work really well if afterwards there were some unspoken agreement among studios to not use it again.
