The Abyss (1989) is a superb drama thriller by James Cameron with a stellar performance by Ed Harris.

This movie starts like a rescue mission , except they are not rescuing people but nukes . The film takes turn to sci-fiction after 1 hour and the mystery holds up till the end. Ed Harris is the star performer in the movie and there is this one scene where he tries to revive a certain someone , that scene made me cry.
