The way this works is that you post a review of the best film you saw last week. It doesn't have to be a new release, just any film you have seen over the last seven days that you feel is worth talking about. Here are some rules.
1. Check to see if your favourite film of last week has been posted already. If so, please reply to that comment instead of making a new thread.
2. Please post your favourite film of last week.
3. NO TV SHOWS!
4. ALWAYS use spoiler tags. Report any comments that spoil recent / little-known films without using the spoiler tag.
5. Comments that only contain the title of the film will be removed!
Here are a few great comments from last week's thread:

The Edge of Seventeen - Wanted to get out of the house and as a film noob I didn't snatch tickets up for Fantastic Beasts or Moana. Friend recommended me to see this film. Probably one of the most underrated films out that no one will see. Hailee Steinfeld fucking carries this and even there were moments of the film that were purposely cringeworthy/awkward that made me feel it second hand, the performance through these moments are surprisingly genuine. Paced well, good soundtrack. The Vancouver high school they filmed at aesthetically is similar to the one I went too so I know they didn't pad the surroundings. Some gut wrenching feels in there too. I did a little research and realized that Steinfeld was nominated 5 years ago for Best Supporting Actress in True Grit. That was an indicator that the big screen was for her and that she could branch out from singing. This movie IMO is a testament that she can LEAD. 8/10 would pay to watch again.

Test Pilot (1938) - Best Picture nominee directed by Victor Fleming, and starring Clark Gable, Myrna Loy, and Spencer Tracy. Surprising. This is one of those extremely hard to find films that I managed to acquire and about which I knew very little going in. Watching it, I couldn't help but be reminded of another film from more than 40 years later: The Right Stuff. Both films are about the daredevil and defiantly reckless behavior of the test pilot in the earlier years of aviation. Both films feature compelling leads and stories. This is almost the more impressive film simply based on the power of Clark Gable and Myrna Loy. I've never been the biggest fan of Gable but he's magnetic here. His passion for the air, for the risk, for the danger, is palpable throughout. He sells the arrogance required for such a profession beautifully. Part of that is his cadence, and part is his voice itself. His voice is bravado personified. Couple him with Myrna Loy, whose quick wit is perhaps the quickest of early Hollywood and whose eyes should come with a warning label attached for emotional resonance, and you've got a cracker of a relationship. Loy could have chemistry with a brick wall if she tried. Add in Spencer Tracy as a friend of Gable and you have a solid acting triangle with Loy and Tracy supporting Gable and Gable giving them each their own moments to shine. The only part here that doesn't quite land (pun intended) is the ending, which seems a bit contrived and saccharine, but it's earned enough that I can appreciate it. If one is looking for a less well-known Victor Fleming picture (after Wizard of Oz and Gone with the Wind), this is certainly a solid choice.

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them - I had my expectations set low because I was concerned they'd just reel the audience in with nostalgia then deliver a half assed movie. Boy was I wrong. It was fantastic and brilliant. The script was brilliant, the acting was really good (Loved Jacob and Queenie the most) Eddie was quite good as Newt. I do agree with other reviewers that he mumbled too much. But he was charming to watch. The plot was a bit slow at times but coherent. I loved the creatures and the scene where newt and Jacob were in the case tending to the animals was really magical. I loved the Niffler the most. But the thing that really impressed me the most was how it envoked the charm of the Harry Potter movies and the humour. The character driven humor especially. And how it mixed the light and dark moods between Newts gang and the Barebones. It was just so beautiful and amazing I can't wait to see it again.
