For once, I want to see an art film, or a serious drama, in the Marvel/Star Wars franchise, instead of a huge blockbuster.

I'm so sick and tired of every one of these installments being the same. There's got to be a way to make one of these movies work without being a huge "good vs. evil, hero vs. villain, blow up the death star/save new york from a blue laser" blockbuster.

Can a serious drama, a character-driven piece, work in these universes? I know that Disney would never do it, as a blockbuster is inherently more profitable than, say, "Fences, but it's Star Wars", but shit.

EDIT: Yes, Logan looks a bit more like what I'm talking about. I'm excited to see it.
