Is the original Alien (1979) the greatest suspense/sci fi/horror flick of all time?

Watched it last night. I was blown away by the maturity and perfection of this film. It's an 80's EDIT: 70's movie, so I expected some flaws; unconvincing acting, unconvincing special effects, fast pacing, ect. But this movie was extremely well done, literally almost perfect. Incredible script and story as well. I think its genius how the alien used humans as a "host", and then dies. The film kind of takes on a more relaxed atmosphere once the initial creature falls off of John hurts face, you assume all is well...obviously, we know what happens next.

I give alien a legit 9/10 stars and encourage anyone else to check it out.
