(Serious) Christopher Nolan is gonna make $20 Million plus 20% of the total gross for 'Dunkirk'...how can Warner Bros profit from this?

That 20% is a massive figure! Of the websites that have predictions for the movie, it's looking at roughly $500-$600 million. So 20% of that would be roughly $100-120 million!

So you take total box office gross - production budget (unknown, but probably huge) - Marketing (unknown) - CN 20% = profit/leftovers!

That's just crazy to me! That's such a large cut (not saying anything about him deserving it or not), just any one individual getting that percentage is nuts! Seems like a pretty huge risk on behalf of the studio (especially since it's not like they will pump out some sort of series/universe from this).

Articles say PJ received the same cut for King Kong. Which is crazy as well lol.

Anyways, that just blew my mind when I read that.
