Trainspotting 2 was incredible

I don't understand how it received lukewarm reception from critics. I thought it was a perfect sequel that had fantastic editing and great cinematography, with its well developed characters and sharp script to keep the story interesting. This was my most anticipated movie of the year and I just don't get how it's not gotten the love it deserves.
