Please stop seeing Transformers movies. Please stop making them. Just leave them alone.

This will be a sort of ranting post that will get lost in the depths of Reddit, but on the off chance anyone important who is involved with making the Transformers films sees this, I could count it a success.

I just regrettably saw Transformers 5: The Last Knight. I didn't want to see it, and ended up getting dragged to it by family. I luckily did not pay for the ticket, but I still regret even giving a dime to ticket sales for this film.

I will not give any summary of the film, because it is not worth the effort. It is a borderline incoherent mess of a plot that disregards all of the established cannon of the original films. It leaves the sequels no where else to go. It boxed itself in on where the films can go next, and that direction is not good.

The dialogue is just terrible, and the characterization we get from our actors is laughable. I am not some type of "SJW", but the film had a bunch of touchy scenes that leaned on racist and sexist. It felt so forced. It felt like it had a quota of races to meet in the film, and it was cringe worthy. Bay just uses stereotypes to flesh out all of the characters on film. It would MAYBE be acceptable if the plot was at least coherent.

The Transformers were also terrible as usual. Even if you aren't knowledgeable on the original Transformers, this film will leave you scratching your head. This had to have had some of the worst representations of Transformers in the entire film series thus far. The dialogue was bad. They all acted out of character, and some characters just flat out disappeared at the climax of the film. Did I mention it dragged on for way too long? The generic nameless designs of the robots were also not really note worthy either.

Now, if you are a Transformer fan, read ahead, if not, try to comprehend or skip to where I say it's good to continue on. So as a Transformers fan who has seen the G1 cartoon a few times over and read a handful of comics, this movie really was a shit show as far as following cannon goes. I know the film series didn't follow G1 cannon all too closely, but they decided to make Unicron, Earth? What the hell is that garbage? It makes no sense, and is just stupid. Also the fact that Cybertron comes to Earth like an episode of the cartoon, but it disregards the effects of having the gravitational forces of a planet sized object next to our Earth. The rip-off Quintesson lady who comes out of nowhere without any explanation was laughable. Optimus is, as usual, out of character and does not act as a leader. The knights and all of that trash about helping out humans in all of Earth's greatest conflicts was such nonsense. They even gave up giving Transformers real names from the series and just made up some really stupid ones. As a G1 Transformers fan, this one was one of the worst films in the series yet.

CONTINUE READING: So to wrap up my rant, please stop seeing these movies. Stop taking your kids. Stop buying the toys. They are a disgrace to not only the original fans of the franchise, but a laughable film series, especially now that they are tripping over their mess of continuity and lore.

Please just reboot it and make closer to the original 80s Transformers. I know it's a billion dollar franchise, but please stop ruining the Transformers name. These aren't JUST bad Transformers films, they have, as a whole, turned into BAD films. They are a plot riddled mess, with awful characters, bad editing, and bad artistic vision.

I wish kids knew what the real Transformers were like. I wish I could forget these movies.
