The Burbs is about an uptight Tom Hanks and his unique neighbors investigating a possibly murderous family in their suburb.

Is this the magnum opus of Tom Hanks' career? No. But damn this movie is a good time. It's a summer staple in my family and has some fabulous one-liners.

Watching this for the millionth time recently, this movie definitely has Stranger Things vibes: A group of friends coming together to investigate suspicious activity with a super 1980's score + general cliche 80's-ness. Right up my alley personally.

The cast is great and delivers the comedic lines to perfection. You get Bruce Dern as a crazy military vet, Corey Feldman as the typical teenage neighbor, and Carrie Fisher as the Hanks' wife. And not to be forgotten is Rick Ducommun's performance as Art, the ultimate nosy neighbor.

So if you wanna pay tribute to the late, great Carrie Fisher, or are just looking for a good-ass summer movie, I say check this out.
