Why I love 'Death to Smoochy'

Instead of lazily posting a short blurb in the title with a link to the movie trailer, I want to break down why I love Death to Smoochy and here your honest opinions on the movie

First off, I love how the film takes a very dark take on the topic of children's programming. How Rainbow Randolph can be a children's show entertainer and have his personal life be in shambles. How Sheldon hires a high-powered agent to negotiate his contract and how the ice show is essentially a racket controlled by the Irish mob. It's so dark but so hilarious

Secondly, Robin Williams just kills it as Rainbow Randolph, I mean his whole performance is peak Robin. like the scene where he tricks Sheldon into performing at a neo-Nazi rally. Or simply, this short scene he is just 100% all in and it is hilarious

Thirdly, Jon Stewart's haircut

Additionally, this is another example of a film that ages well over time, Roger Ebert said upon the film's release: "Only enormously talented people could have made Death to Smoochy. Those with lesser gifts would have lacked the nerve to make a film so bad, so miscalculated, so lacking any connection with any possible audience. To make a film this awful, you have to have enormous ambition and confidence, and dream big dreams." Nice takedown by Rog in his 1/2 star out of 4 review of the film. I think how the film discusses the over-commercialism of children's programming and how we turn kid shows into one major advertisement is even more relevant today than it was when the film was released in 2002.

Anyway, I love the movie and think that it is a quintessential dark comedy, but I am curious to hear what you guys think.
