Mudbound
Wow I'm surprised there's no megathread for this yet. This and Dunkirk are my favorite film of the year.
Mudbound story is beautiful, enraging, frustrating all at the same time. A soul crushing tale of war, love, racial discrimination and survival. It hits home somehow because we're still relieving that today. I haven't wept in a movie since Schindler's List.
It's beautifully shot, too and the lightning in some scenes is just gorgeous.
I hope it gets some nominations
