Why it's called The Room

I watched an interview last night that was astounding. Tommy starts off thanking the audience for purchasing "The Room DVD" and Greg starts asking him questions. He asks him questions like "why did you play football in tuxedos" and "what do you see in your future", "how did you make up the room" and "how do you feel about the negative reactions". But the one that i enjoyed most was "why is it called The Room?" To which Tommy replied,

"Because I wanted it to be relatable to everyone and everyone has this room -- not a room, The Room, that they can go to when it's alone time, bedtime. A room where you can laugh, you can cry, you can feel free to express yourself. Just don't hurt each other, yeah?"
