Amid all of the Oscar talk, I've noticed Wind River has been absent. Is it because it released too long ago? Because for my money, it's easily one of the best films this year.

Particularly upsetting is the Best Supporting Actor snub coming Gil Birmingham's way. The final scene where he's sitting with his death face on was so nuanced and heartbreaking. Amid all the #oscarssowhite news, you'd figure the academy would want to honor a Native American for one of the most powerful performances all year. Sadly, they probably will not... and that's a shame.
