Finally saw 50/50. I loved it.

I'm 26 years old and finishing up radiation for Hodgkin's lymphoma. I finally got around to watching 50/50 and wow. It just blew me away. I've never seen something that portrayed the specific challenges that young adults with cancer face like this film. I hate the genre of young adult cancer sorrow porn (I disliked these movies before cancer and I hate them more now) and I was really uplifted by how well they told the story from the patient's point of view. Most films with cancer that I see tell the story from the perspective of the people around the patient, so this was refreshing.

The scene on the bus was the first point I cried. The second was the scene in the car. The pre-surgery scene just made me come undone.

I guess I just wanted to discuss the film with some people. What did you think? My least favorite part was Seth Rogen's character. I actually like his typical sassy pothead schtick, and I'm glad they redeemed him in the end, but as a female I found the way he treated women a little too gross to ignore.
