r/Movies should join against a new Reddit design as League of legends and other subs did

IMPORTANT:

As of the thread creation, a several more subreddits have joined this. There is a great banner on r/NBA to put on your subreddit if you are a moderator. See image

How to do it?

  • Go to Mod Tools -> Customize appearance -> Sidebar widgets -> Add a widget -> Images.
  • Upload this image.
  • Title it as you wish and include the clickable link to your subreddit https://old.reddit.com/r/YourRedditName so when someone clicks on the image it will get them back on old Reddit.

And the final result will look like this

/r/CFB, /r/NFL, /r/Hockey, /r/LeagueofLegends, /r/CollegeBasketball, r/NBA and r/SquaredCircle have either made announcements about or disabled their stylesheet to reflect their concerns about Reddit’s Redesign and the limitations it will put on our communities. The primary concern - which the mod team at /r/soccer shares - is that the present new version of Reddit is extremely limited in functionality.

People overall subreddits will lose most of the functionalities and hard-work which was done over the years will be lost by moderators (design, creativity for sidebars, etc.) because Reddit is forcing a new redesign which no one asked for. We don't want a youtube like social media here. This place has been perfect for years and no one had issues with it.

Spread the word over other subreddits you frequently visit.

Reddit admins said they will leave old.reddit.com but won't patch and bugfix it ever, meaning over time it will be broken and insecure. They are serious about forcing the whole Reddit on new.reddit.com

How to help? Raise your concerns over r/redesign that current Reddit is something which we all like and want. Post threads like this on your favorite subs so we as a community can make a difference.

What Reddit communities are going to lose:

1. Flair: Both text and image flairs are affected.

  • The number of flairs will be allowed but probably will be significantly reduced.
    • Emojis are replacing flair.
  • User flair in the redesign is a tiny 15x15 image
  • Mixing flairs with CSS to get 2 flairs or something like r/overwatch completely impossible.

2. Banner/Sidebar:

  • The banner has been converted into a static image, removing things like clickable links
  • Sidebar filters, AMA calendars, links at header like on r/movies and such will be completely impossible.

3. Misc:

  • Even syntax list like I wrote in this post is unsupported on new redesign.
  • Everything unique you see here on r/Movies will be totally impossible.
  • Subreddit wiki pages do not currently exist in the redesign, and it's not clear whether they will be maintained going forward. This means all your hard work might be gone.
  • No weekly AMA and stuff by automoderator
  • Unable to highlight posts anymore for emphasis or other minor style tweaks.
  • Popup posts which can't be styled as you are used to on current reddit.
  • And much more CSS hacks which can be done on current reddit and can't on a redesign.
