What movies have you seen where the soundtrack made as much of an impact on you as the actors or story?

It doesn't have to be a "best score" winner - just important to you.

A few of for me would be:

  • Gladiator
  • The Last of the Mohicans
  • I Am Sam (a boatload of Beatles covers)
  • Harry Potter (the intro, especially)
  • Blade Runner 2049, just to name a few.

These examples don't just have songs you could swap out for the same effect. Their soundtracks are basically a supporting role and they generate as much of an emotional response as a we'll-delivered line.
