2001: A Space Odyssey in 70 mm re-release blew my fucking mind

I've seen 2001 multiple times but the theatrical experience is just absolutely mind blowing. The entire audience of loud talkative hipsters was completely rapt at the silences and visual spectacle. This film is an artist at the absolute height of his powers, please find a way to see it if it is anywhere near you, even if you think you have experienced it at home, seeing it in the theater just exceeds all expectations.
