In The Little Shop of Horrors (1986), the practical effects crew filmed the plant scenes and musical numbers at 12-16 frames per second. They then sped up the scene to 24 FPS. This meant that the actors interacting with the plant in these scenes also had to act and mouth dialogue in slow motion.
