BlacKkKlansman will be getting a wide release instead of limited next Friday, August 10th

I was just checking the release schedule for next week and the film is no longer going to be getting just a limited release. Instead, it will be released at 1,500 theaters next Friday putting it up against The Meg and Slender Man. While I don't think it's going to hit #1 at the box office, I do think this is a good move by the studio. The box office tends to get a lot slowers towards the end of August and with the controversial subject matter and good reviews could make this a surprise summer hit.
