Why is Bryan Singer allowed to make movies while James Gunn can’t?

It seems like just because Bryan Singers controversy was 3 years before the #metoo movement, he gets a free pass.

His allegations are just as credible and damning as Kevin Spacey's: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bryan_Singer#Sexual_abuse_allegations

But just because everyone felt like they already dealt with him he didn't face any repercussions. And when I say dealt with, I mean he was openly accused, people gossiped and it all went away quickly.

I remember a new lawsuit involved him last year and he got fired from the Queen biopic. And I was like "good, I'm glad he's finally facing repercussions for scarring adolescent boys" but NO! He was fired for being a dick to the cast and showing up late or not at all and the lawsuit went nowhere. I then check his IMDB and see he has 6 movies in the works, 3 of which he's directing.

Meanwhile James Gunn is being fired and possibly blacklisted for darkly humored tweets. I mean James Gunn started his career with the studio Troma, famous for their disgusting shock humor and B-movie horror style. James Gunn's first script includes a character turning into a cow with a three foot penis, a guy cracking his skull open on a fire hydrant, a pregnant woman bursting open to reveal she's full of popcorn and a giant dick monster. And by Troma Studio standards, this is all very very tame.

This is where James Gunn earned his bearings, where that kind of humor was the norm and pushing extreme grotesque ideas was viewed as humorous and rewarded. He was a product of his environment and that environment enabled him to excel creatively and bring us the amazing films he's made to date and you can see his roots in his work.

Yet none of this means anything. Hollywood doesn't have a moral compass and simply whoever is topical for controversy amongst the public they will axe in a positive PR move to come off as the good guys. While they will hire people with a proven track record of abusing boys on the downlow like Bryan Singer or this guy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victor_Salva#Child_sexual_abuse_and_child_pornography

TL;DR: Hollywood will ignore track records of sexual abuse on comic book directors like Bryan Singer because they're not being talked about. But will fire comic book directors like James Gunn over small harmless tweets because he's currently being criticized. Boycott Singer movies, sign petitions for Gunn.

Edit: For those of you who think Singer still isn't making movies, he has a new one coming out this year starring Hugh Jackman and Christina Aguilera which he co-directed with his friend that he was accused of sexual abuse with. Budgeted at up to $90 million. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Goddard#Broadway_4D
