Can a single person here tell me the first name of Matthew McConaughey’s character in Interstellar?

Everyone calls him either Cooper, or Coop. Late in the film, Coopers son Tom (Casey Afleck) tells his dad in a video message that he named his son Cooper, after his dad. But then at the end of the film, he is on a space station, and when he finds out that it’s named Cooper Station, he thinks it was named after him, but then is told that it’s actually named after his daughter. His daughter’s name is Murphy, or Murph. So if her name is Murphy, then why would they name the station Cooper station, unless her LAST name is Cooper. So if Tom named his son after his father, his son’s name is Cooper Cooper?
