When Thinking About Great Halloween Movies, Don't Forget this Michael J. Fox (In His Final Big Screen Role) Classic [THE FRIGHTENERS] [1996] [CLIP]

'The Frighteners' directed by an up and coming Peter Jackson, featuring effects by a newly formed Weta Digital and produced by Robert Zemeckis.

Also starring horror/B-movie greats; John Astin (father of Samwise himself), Dee Wallace, R. Lee Ermey Jeffrey Combs and Jake Busey.

This film had nearly the longest shooting schedule approved by Universal at the time because the film had to be shot twice, once with the actors on set and again with the actors playing the ghosts. It had a record number of visual effects shots and ultimately served as proof of concept that Jackson could handle the effects for LOTR in-house.
