Weird Movie-Talker Experience

My wife and I went to see Halloween tonight at a theater in San Diego. We really enjoyed the movie. But there was a guy talking through the first half. It was driving us crazy. He was just having a conversation with his friend at almost normal volume. I finally said, "Can you stop talking, please?" He turned toward us and said, "Sorry, man." Then didn't say another word for the rest of the movie. When it was over, he walked over to me, and asked, "Are you the guy who asked me to stop talking?" I said, "Yes." He moved in closer to me. I'm 6'1" and 225 pounds. I feel like I can take care of myself, but you never know what you're going to get in a darkened theater. I was getting really tense and nervous, not knowing what to expect. Then he said, "I'm really sorry. During these kinds of movies, I get ideas in my head and I just start talking and I don't even realize I'm doing it. I didn't mean to ruin the movie for you." I was stunned. I've asked a lot of people to stop talking in movies, but at best, they stop for a little while. I've never had anyone really respond, and certainly not like this. I said, "That's OK man. I appreciate you apologizing. That's pretty cool. " He kept saying he was sorry. I asked him if he enjoyed the movie and he said, "Yeah. That was pretty sick." He said sorry a couple more times and then left. It was an extremely bizarre, but pretty cool movie-going experience.
