[Discussion] In The Princess Diaries, Mia’s friend Lilly is the worst

I’m rewatching the movie for the first time in awhile and I realized that Mia’s friend Lilly is a horrible person.

1. She constantly is making fun of Mia in the first half of the movie.

2. When Mia mentions her recently deceased father, Lilly says something along the lines of “oh you’re still sad about that? Hasn’t it been like 2 months already?”

3. She makes Mia feel like shit for getting a makeover and new look. If my best friend got an amazing makeover I would be super stoked no?

4. But she suddenly likes Mia after finding out that she’s a princess. After being super dramatic and wanting to throw her friendship charm “in the dirt.” Because that’s a logical reaction after your friend got her hair straightened.

5. She only cares about herself. (Reference bleacher scene)

6. She never has one positive thing to say the entire movie.

7. Her backpack is a dead beaver.

Need I say more? Maybe this wine is driving my rage. Goodnight.
