Something I've always admired about the Dude in 'The Big Lebowski'.

The Dude has several character flaws, but I've always liked that he shows up to Marty's (his landlord) dance recital. Maybe it's just so he'll let his rent payment slide, but in the scene where he tells Marty he'll be there I immediately thought he was going to flake out the first time I watched it. Marty is a pretty weird guy, but it's obvious how important the recital is to him. It was a cool surprise when they start the scene in the theater.
