With Apollo 11's 50th anniversary, a great companion film that may be overlooked is The Dish (2000).

The film starring Sam Neill and Patrick Warburton is about an observatory in Australia and their role in the Apollo 11 mission. It's warm, funny, dramatic and has a great score to boot.

One of my favourite comedies generally, if you're in need of a pick-me-up , The Dish will do right by you and with all the hullabaloo about the 50th anniversary, it's a great time to do it.
