Danny Elfman’s score for the Spider-Man1 & 2 is perfect.
(Please bare in mind I have no musical talent and this is just some random teenager’s opinion).
The score for these 2 films (for me at least) perfectly encapsulates not only Spider-Man the character, but the superhero genre as a whole. The main theme is heroic af, giving off such a good vibe, building tension that rises into a heroic swell. I get chills whenever we see Spider-Man swing into action with this theme in the background, it’s just so emotional. ‘Revenge’ from the first film is hype af, and goes from being a piece about revenge (hence the name) filled with anger to w piece focusing on the wonders of discovering web swinging and Peter’s powers and back again wonderfully.
These are just 2 examples of the score being used to not only evoke emotion, but tell a story just from music alone, accompanying what’s in the screen perfectly. Any other examples of a score being in your mind ‘perfect’? (I have inception as well, cliche I know)
