I miss Vangelis movie soundtracks - why has it been so long?

Vangelis was hugely successful with soundtracks in the 80s with Blade Runner and Chariots of Fire, but hasn't done any soundtracks since 2004. He could do eye catching themes as well as subtle background music His synth style seems to have come back into style now and would probably not be considered dated like it was in the 90s and 2000s.

Is there a personal reason why he has stopped working on soundtracks? - If so I can't find it. He did a studio album in 2016. Does Hollywood just need reminding about him?
