Is #ReleaseTheSnyderCut just a marketing campaign for HBO Max?

So hear me out, my guess is that it is already decided that the Snyder Cut will be released. Everyone involved knows about that and the hype around the whole situation is just being used for marketing for Hbo Max. Kevin Smith tagged Hbo Max Twitter account in his post, that's what caught my attention. Conspiracy theory or does it make some sense? What do you think?
