Why do straight people go see a gay-themed movie at a screening and then loudly complain about a gay scene when it comes on?
I was at a screening for Rocketman with my boyfriend and we were enjoying the movie and this straight couple above us kept making derogatory comments about how gross the gay scenes were. Like if Taron Egerton kissed Richard Madden they'd be all "yuck" or "this is so gross. I think I'm going to vomit".
And I'm like why the fuck do you feel the need to announce this to everybody? And why are you even paying to go see a movie about a man you know is gay? If I was straight and uncomfortable about homosexuality, then I wouldn't go see it, or better yet, keep my goddamn mouth shut about my own homophobia when there might be LGBT viewers at the screening who didn't pay a ticket to see their viewing disturbed by homophobia.
This is why I hate watching LGBT movies at the cinema because straight people ruin it for me.
